<p><span>Gani Lawal</span>, the 46th pick in the 2010 NBA draft, <a href="https://go.redirectingat.com?id=66960X1516590&xs=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.azcentral.com%2Fsports%2Fsuns%2Farticles%2F2010%2F08%2F01%2F20100801phoenix-suns-sign-gani-lawal.html&referrer=sbnation.com&sref=https%3A%2F%2Farizona.sbnation.com%2F2010%2F8%2F1%2F2318724%2Fsuns-sign-gani-lawal-for-2010-2011-season" target="_blank" rel="sponsored nofollow noopener">has signed</a> with the <a href="http://www.sbnation.com/nba/teams/PHO" class="sbn-auto-link">Phoenix Suns</a>.</p>
<p>Lawal earned a guaranteed contract for the rookie minimum, which is $473,604. After a good showing in the summer league, Lawal figures to scrap for playing time behind <span>Channing Frye</span>, <span>Earl Clark</span> and <span>Hakim Warrick</span> as a role player.</p>
<blockquote>
<p>"We've got a great opportunity for him and us, because he has the opportunity to develop," Suns President of Basketball Operations <b style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Lon Babby</b> said. "It gives us an opportunity to watch an important asset develop, which is what you want with your draft picks."</p>
</blockquote>
<p>This move gives the Suns a 12-man roster. It is expected that Phoenix will add a couple of bodies at the end of the bench, considering the huge loss of <span>Taylor Griffin</span>.</p>
<p>Most likely, Lawal will not play very much in his first NBA season. But considering his size and upside, we could see much more of him over the next few seasons in the desert.</p>
