The Phoenix Suns officially signed first-round pick Kendall Marshall to his rookie deal, the club announced via twitter on Monday.

Marshall's contract kept him out of the start of summer league games but he's been on the bench cheering on his teammates as the contract situation was resolved.

"I guess they didn't have his contract completely done yet. We expect him any day," Suns assistant coach and summer league head coach Dan Majerle said in the Arizona Republic on Sunday.

That day will be Monday as the former North Carolina point guard gets to start to showcase the pure point guard abilities that made him the 13th overall pick and the first to take a crack at the now-departed Steve Nash's spot as the team's lead distributor.

"Hopefully tomorrow so he can play. It's a contract thing. He's been practicing with us, so hopefully next game he will be able to play."

Majerle, quite the prophet.
