2012 NBA Mock Draft: Phoenix Suns Select Dion Waiters

Several NBA mock drafts have the Phoenix Suns selecting Austin Rivers with the No. 13 overall pick, while a few have Syracuse's Dion Waiters going to the Suns. Hoopsworld.com's latest mock draft has the Suns taking Waiters at No. 13. The potential departure of Steve Nash along with the aging bodies of Michael Redd and Sebastian Telfair make drafting a guard a priority for the Suns in June's draft.

Waiters is considered to be one of the top shooting guards in this year's pool of players along with Rivers, Terrence Ross, Bradley Beal and Jeremy Lamb.

Waiters averaged 12.6 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game in his sophomore year at Syracuse. The first man off the bench for the Orange, Waiters was crucial to the team's success and their eventual run in the NCAA Tournament. Fans can follow Waiters' weekly draft diary at Dime Magazine for an inside look at the draft process.
