Steve Nash Rumors: Phoenix Suns Free Agent PG Likes Knicks, Might Go Anywhere

What will Steve Nash do in free agency this year remains one of the biggest questions. Nash could go anywhere and is being coveted by plenty of teams. And there are plenty of scenarios. Nash could sign with a contender to try and get that elusive championship ring. He could go to an underdog and try and help them along and lead them to impressive things. He could return to the Phoenix Suns and finish his time with the team he enjoyed his greatest success.

Mike Mazzeo of ESPN New York files this report that has Nash being open to all the opportunities, even the New York Knicks.

The 16-year veteran has expressed interest in playing in New York and wouldn't be opposed to playing with Jeremy Lin or for coach Mike Woodson.

"I wouldn't have any fear of the fans maybe having a love affair with Jeremy," Nash said. "I think it's great. ... That doesn't really bother me."

However, it's no given that he'd sign with a contender. In fact, he might just end up with another team at about the same level as the Suns.

"The truth is I'm a bit old school. For me, it would be hard to put on a Lakers jersey. That's just the way it is," Nash said. "You play against them so many times in the playoffs, and I just use them as an example, and I have the utmost respect for them and their organization.

"I kind of have that tendency (to try to beat the best teams), so it is strange, but as a free agent you're free to go where you want, so I'd have to consider everything regardless of the past or the future."

This figures to be one of the most wide open free agent races out there this offseason.
