NBA Mock Draft 2012: Terrence Ross Selected By Phoenix Suns

The Phoenix Suns are a franchise not only trying to return to the postseason, but also entice point guard Steve Nash to spend the rest of his career in Arizona. Despite a solid run at the end of the season, the Suns still have some holes to fill on the roster and they should be able to address at least one of them at the 2012 NBA Draft.

Phoenix has the 13th pick this season and has already been linked to numerous players. This latest mock draft from Sam Amick of Sports Illustrated has the Suns selecting Washington guard Terrence Ross, who is 6'6 and 195lbs.

There are rumblings that Ross is moving up the shooting guard ranks, and he could eventually be dynamic enough to qualify as the Suns' star for the post-Steve Nash era (whether that starts this summer or not). Ross, who averaged 16.4 points and shot 45.7 percent from the field and 37.1 percent from three-point range last season, is very athletic and more than capable of becoming a good NBA defender.

Ross was a dynamic scorer for UW the last two seasons and really turned his game on in conference play against the tougher competition. He did have a bit of a reputation for having a streaky shot in college, but most players typically iron those things out in the NBA.

There is a chance Ross moves up higher than this on draft night, but the Suns will definitely have to take a look at him should he still be available at No. 13.
