Alvin Gentry Postgame Rip Of Team A Necessary Thing, But Timing Is Bad

If you didn't catch it after the game on Wednesday, Phoenix Suns head coach Alvin Gentry used his postgame press conference to show just how fed up with how the team played to start the game against the Golden State Warriors.

↵

If you didn't, catch it below. It was calculated, it was articulate and it was right on target.

The Suns have been as frustrating a team to watch as there has been. They show flashes of being able to compete and then they forget to play the first ten minutes of the game. Even still, they almost win it in the end, which would almost be rewarding their ineptitude.

↵

It's great to see Gentry so upset. Hopefully the team is embarrassed. They need to be called out.

↵

The problem is that with the All-Star break coming up, the rant may end up being forgotten. They don't play again until next Thursday.

↵

The issue is that Wednesday's game could not be ignored, regardless of the timing. Their play was simply not acceptable to start the game.

↵

↵

Maybe they come out with heart. Maybe they don't. That would be the perfect time for a rant like Gentry's.

↵
Hopefully they won't need it again.
