Having lost five of their last six games, including their last four, the Phoenix Suns are now near the bottom of the Western Conference standings.
At 7-12 on the season, the Suns are 13th in the West, only ahead of the Sacramento Kings and New Orleans Hornets who are each 5-12. The Suns are fourth in the Pacific division and trail the Los Angeles Clippers by 5-1/2 games. Only the Charlotte Bobcats, who have lost five straight games, have a longer active losing streak.
One of the main issues for the Suns has been their struggles on the road. Phoenix is just 2-9 on the road this season. The road struggles have caused Phoenix to tumble recently as the Suns just completed a six-game roadtrip in which they went 1-5. The Suns are 5-3 at home this season and might be able to make up some ground in the standings as they play eight of their next 10 games at home.
Phoenix currently has the seventh worst record in the NBA, but the standings are still bunched up. The Suns are just two games behind the Los Angeles Lakers who currently hold the No. 8 seed in the West.
