Suns vs. Trail Blazers: Blazers halt Suns' streak

Bright Side of the Sun mourns the ending of the Suns' winning streak.

The Bright Side of the Sun had a nice run going. With four straight wins, things were looking up in the Valley. But the Phoenix Suns ran into another hot team in the Portland Trail Blazers and their streak was halted.

BSS broke down each position and how they fared against the Blazers and there were plenty of mixed results.

Let's start with the guards as Goran Dragic did what Dragic does -- play up and down. Dragic can look really good, like he did in the first half with 10 points and three assists. And he can look bad as he did when he disappeared in the second half while Portland's Damian Lillard took over. Shannon Brown's shot left him and he turned the ball over four times.

Luis Scola was eaten alive by Blazers forward J.J. Hickson. Scola managed only six points and four rebounds while Hickson dropped 19 points and grabbed 15 rebounds. Jared Dudley had a pretty good game with eight points and 10 assists while keeping Nicolas Batum in check.

Marcin Gortat got it going offensively with 18 points while grabbing nine boards and he did a decent job of keeping LaMarcus Aldridge from getting into any sort of rhythm.

The Suns' bench outscored the Blazers' bench, 36-22.

Pretty evenly matched game except for one small thing -- the Blazers had Lillard and the Suns didn't. Advantage: Blazers.
