The Phoenix Suns started the weekend off on the right foot with a 111-108 overtime win over the New Orleans Hornets on Friday night at US Airways Arena. Markieff Morris punctuated a career-high 23 points with a three-pointer in overtime to seal the win for the Suns. As has often been the case with this year's Suns squad, the team had to rally from a 19-point third quarter deficit to tie the game at the end of regulation. The Hornets were paced by the stellar shooting or Ryan Anderson, who scored a career-high 34 points and sank eight three-point baskets.
Phoenix (6-8) couldn't overcome a career-high 33 points from 76ers guard Jrue Holiday and lost 104-101 at the Wells Fargo Center on Sunday. The Suns had six players in double figures -- including 21 points from Michael Beasley, 18 from Marcin Gortat and 12 from Sebastian Telfair off the bench -- but it wasn't enough to topple the 8-6 76ers. The road has been unkind to the Suns thus far, as the team has posted a 1-5 record away from US Airways Arena.
The Suns head to Cleveland on Tuesday to take on the Cavaliers. Tipoff is slated for 5 p.m. MT and the game will be televised on Fox Sports Arizona.
