Markieff Morris is day-to-day with his injured back for Phoenix Suns

Phoenix Suns forward Markieff Morris is recovering from a banged-up back.

Vince Marotta of Arizona Sports reports that Markieff Morris of the Phoenix Suns is day-to-day with a back injury he sustained in game action. The Suns forward went down hard on his back after tangling with Luol Deng of the Chicago Bulls when trying to get an offensive rebound.

Suns head coach Alvin Gentry seems to indicate that Morris is still sore from the fall and his status will be determined on a day-to-day basis. After he's able to loosen his back up from treatment (which might include the cyro-chamber), he'll be able to get back out there and play as soon as possible.

Morris had a solid game against Chicago in 22 minutes, scoring eight points and hauling in ten rebounds. Michael Beasley had to play with both Morris and Luis Scola out, and he struggled mightily (4-15 from the field, four turnovers). The Suns lost to the Bulls 112-106 in overtime.
