The Phoenix Suns might catch a small break on Tuesday when the face the Chicago Bulls. The 12-3 Eastern Conference powerhouse is coming off a game Monday in Memphis and will likely be without starting shooting guard Rip Hamilton.

Then again, the Suns need all the breaks they can get and will still need more to overcome their four-game losing streak that's been marred by some troubling injuries to Steve Nash (back) and Grant Hill (knee), continued poor team shooting and a decline in the defense that looked so promising in the early weeks of the season.

MVP Derrick Rose will present a challenge for Nash and the Suns. Quick scoring guard Kyrie Irving tore up the Suns last week and without a fully healthy Grant Hill, Rose will test the Suns interior rotations.

Projected lineups:

  • Point guard: Steve Nash -- Derrick Rose
  • Shooting guard: Jared Dudley -- Ronnie Brewer
  • Small forward: Grant Hill -- Luol Deng
  • Power forward: Channing Frye -- Carlos Boozer
  • Center: Marcin Gortat -- Joakim Noah
  • Key subs: Suns (Markieff Morris, Shannon Brown, Michael Redd, Ronnie Price,Hakim Warrick, Robin Lopez). Bulls (Kyle Korver, Taj Gibson, Omer Asik, C.J. Watson)

Then again, Derrick Rose might not even play:

Chicago was without star guard Derrick Rose yesterday, who was resting a toe injury. Rose remains uncertain for tonight's game against the Phoenix Suns.

If he can't go, you can bet coach Tom Thibodeau will be on his team not to put forth a second consecutive lackadaisical effort without Rose.

And while many comments are made in the moment and don't necessarily reflect the core beliefs an individual, some comments are spot on-brilliant and or unanswerable. Or, at least provide some thought provoking insight.
