Orlando Magic Fans Facebook Campaign To Bring J.R. Smith To Florida

Fans are funny people. You know who I am talking about. Look in the mirror and ask yourself how many dumb ideas you floated in the comments of a story or on Twitter. In the latest example of fan silliness, a group of desperate Orlando Magic supporters have started a Facebook campaign to bring Denver Nuggets soon-to-be-free agent J.R. Smith to Florida.

Folks, I realize your team has gone colder than Stan Van Gundy's heart from the three-point line in your playoff series against the Atlanta Hawks. I get that the J.R. Smith talent is alluring and his tattoos scream like a Siren's song to fan yearning for a wing player who can shoot, drive, pass and score.

The problem here, of course, is that JR Smith is a notorious knucklehead. He's about as streaky as them come without being diagnosed bi-polar and his reputation as a teammates sucks. There's a reason this guy is averaging 25 minutes per game and not 40 and it has nothing to do with his abilities.

Fortunately, as of the time of publishing this story, the Facebook page only has 37 "Likes". Let's just hope we don't see a similar call from Suns' fans once NBA free agency starts.

Do you really want this guy on your team?
