KG Offers Alvin Gentry Some Tickets For NBA Playoffs

I didn't see this before, but SBNation.com picked up this story earlier today.

As many of you know, Kevin Garnett was issued a technical foul for jawing at Suns coach Alvin Gentry late in Boston's win over Phoenix last night. When asked about what the conversation was about, Garnett quipped:

"Oh, Alvin Gentry was asking me for tickets for the first round of the playoffs and I told him I'd hook him up," Garnett said.

Classy, KG. You're always impressing Phoenix fans with your maturity, sportsmanship and intellect.

Some more from the ESPN article:

Even [Boston coach Doc] Rivers, who typically strays from all the extracurricular talk, made a point in his postgame remarks to express disappointment in how the final seconds played out. (Rajon Rondo also drew a last-second foul while trying to put up a final shot.)

↵

Rivers also didn't hide from the fact that his players were extra motivated for the game.

↵

"I think all our guys were [motivated]," Rivers said. "That's what the explosion early was about. And the tech at the end of the game, I thought that was not a great tech, in my opinion. I thought [the Phoenix] bench, their coaches were talking, which I don't think you should ever do if you have a suit and tie on and actually can't play. I don't think you should be doing a lot of talking to the players on the floor. It's just my opinion."

The Boston and Phoenix rivalry is turning into quite a feud. It's really too bad the Suns aren't slightly better this year; I would have really enjoyed a Finals series featuring our hometown team against the Celtics. That would have been something to see.

In the end, however, Garnett needs to remember that he was in the wrong for his sack tap on Channing Frye earlier this season. His lack of apology and refusal to admit wrongdoing has vilified him for us Arizona types.
