Phoenix Suns Put Away Blake Griffin And The Clippers, 108-99

The Phoenix Suns scored 27 points in each of the game's four quarter as they beat the Los Angeles Clippers 108-99 in a crucial road win. Steve Nash led the team with 23 points and 13 assists and came just three rebounds away from a triple double. The best sign of his returning good health, Nash was 3-3 from three-point range.

Defensively, Channing Frye and even Hakim Warrick did a solid job against rookie sensation Blake Griffin. Griffin fouled out of the game in the fourth quarter after expressing his frustration at a difficult game. He scored 17 points but needed 18 shots to do it and had a career-low two rebounds in the game.

Frye finished strong with all 19 of his points coming in the second half including 5-8 from three. Jared Dudley added 14 points of his own and six rebounds along with great infectious energy and effort.

Another bright spot for the Suns was Zabian Dowdell who stepped in for Aaron Brooks who was suspended for this game. Dowdell played 13 minutes backing up Nash and finished with eight points (4-8 shooting) and played his typical solid defense. The bench unit with Dowdell was able to extend a three-point lead to 11 points over a six minute stretch while Nash rested.

The Suns stay in L.A. until their next game against the Lakers on Tuesday.
