Taurasi Looks Forward to Returning to Turkey

Diana Taurasi found herself in an unfamiliar spot in an 88-63 victory over Great Britain - playing point guard.

With Sue Bird away from the team because of the death of her grandfather, Taurasi had to take over the ball-handling skills. Her final stat sheet wasn't what most people are used to seeing, but it earned the praise of coach Geno Auriemma.

Sue Bird is set to rejoin the team in Turkey, where Taurasi has spent some of her international career playing, a fact that is not lost on Taurasi.

"I can't wait to see all my Gala fans. They were great this past year. It'll be nice to see them all again, because they're great fans. They're passionate and hopefully they'll cheer for the seven ex-Gala players that I think we have on this team, which is pretty cool."

The Women's National Team will play two more warm up games on July 21st and July 22nd against Croatia and Turkey in Istanbul, Turkey. After that, the ladies will head to London to seek their fifth straight goal medal.
