Phoenix Mercury Forward Kara Braxton Suspended One Game

Kara Braxton has been suspended one game for conduct detrimental to the team. Will the Mercury be able to withstand the loss of their talented forward?

Kara Braxton of the Phoenix Mercury has been suspended for one games for conduct detrimental to the team. Contrary to previous reports citing "personal reasons", Braxton was suspended for Tuesday's game against the Minnesota Lynx.

Braxton, 28, will play when the Mercury take on the Connecticut Sun on Sunday afternoon. She is averaging 10.6 points per game along with 4.9 rebounds and 1.3 assists. The Mercury, who currently sit at 11-8 this season, trail San Antonio by a half-game for second place in the Western Conference.

Phoenix struggled in their most recent game without Braxton. Despite Diana Taurasi's 20 points, they were unable to overcome the Lynx and fell in a  90-73 defeat. Former Connecticut star Maya Moore recorded 22 points as Minnesota continued their strong season.

Hopefully both Braxton and the Mercury can set their differences aside and can get back to work on the court. They will need her for remaining season as they make their push for the playoffs.
