Phoenix Coyotes Sign Nick Johnson To One-Year, Two-Way Deal

The Phoenix Coyotes continued improving their roster on Thursday afternoon, announcing the club has agreed to a one-year, two-way deal with right ring Nick Johnson. As is normally the case with the Coyotes, the dollar amount he will receive was not disclosed.

Johnson, 26, had a fine season in 2011-12, setting career highs in goals (8), assists (18), points (28) and penalty minutes (45). All of this came in 77 games with Phoenix. The former third round pick has bounced around a bit in the early stages of his career, but it appears Johnson has a chance to hang around with the Coyotes for quite some time.

According to an official report from the Coyotes, Johnson has also recorded a line of 50-64-114 with a plus-46 rating in 169 career AHL games. In addition, he has recorded 8-7-15 in 26 career AHL postseason games.
