The season may be over for the Phoenix Coyotes, but you have to love the heart and determination this club showed over the last month. They scratched and clawed to win their division, advanced all the way to the Western Conference finals and nearly forced a game six against a hot Los Angeles Kings team.
Miss any of the action last night? We have a complete video recap of the night's goals.
Here is video of Taylor Pyatt's goal, which gave Phoenix a 1-0 lead.
Here is the answer from the Kings, a goal from Anze Kopitar to tie the score at 1-1 in the closing moments of the first period.
Marc-Antoine Pouliot scored his first goal of the playoffs early in the second period, giving the Coyotes a lead once again.
Los Angeles would respond yet again, this time not only tying the game on a goal from Drew Doughty but taking a 3-2 lead about three minutes later as Mike Richards lit the lamp.
Keith Yandle tied the game up at 3-3 at the 16:23 mark of the second period. This would be the final goal of regulation.
And finally, after a wild 17:42 of overtime, it was Dustin Penner of the Kings who ended the series with this goal.
A rough end to the season for the Coyotes, but there is a ton to love about this team moving forward. It should be a busy offseason as always in Phoenix.
