Coyotes Finish Preseason With 4-3 Shootout Loss In Edmonton

Edmonton, AB (Sports Network) – Dustin Penner scored the game-winner in the second round of the shootout, as the Edmonton Oilers snuck past the Phoenix Coyotes, 4-3, in preseason action.

Sam Gagner, Alexandre Giroux, and Colin McDonald lit the lamp in regulation for the Oilers. Jeff Deslauriers started in net and stopped 15-of-17 shots, while Martin Gerber made 18 saves in relief.

Scottie Upshall had a goal and an assist for the Coyotes. Lee Stempniak and Kyle Turris also scored for Phoenix, which got 27 saves from Ilya Bryzgalov.
