With only Monday Night Football left to complete Week 5 of this year's NFL season and one thing continues to be pretty clear -- the NFC West is pretty dang good. All but the Arizona Cardinals won their games this week, and the Cardinals lost to a team within the division. The San Francisco 49ers laid another beatdown on an AFC East opponent. After a 34-0 won over the Jets last week, they walloped the Buffalo Bills 45-3 on Sunday.
The Seattle Seahawks eeked out another win, a 16-12 victory over Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers. That Seattle defense continues to terrorize opposing quarterbacks.
The previously unbeaten Cardinals suffered their first loss of the year on Thursday night at the hands of the St. Louis Rams, who sacked Kevin Kolb nine times in a 17-3 win.
San Fran and Arizona are now each 4-1, while the Seahawks and Rams sit at 3-2. Every team has a winning record. The division has a combined 14 wins, twice the number that the NFC South has, who feature the 5-0 Falcons. The next best division is the NFC North with 11 combined wins, but the division is 1-2 against the NFC West so far.
The jokes have ended about the NFC Worst. It is very possible as of now that the division could send two playoff teams, or even have a 10-win team that doesn't get in. Teams now will dread playing this division.
Forget NFC Worst, it is NFC Best.
Here are what our team blogs said after each team's win.
