Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald and the rest of the offense have struggled mightily this year, but Fitzgerald would have no problem bringing everybody back next year.

The Arizona Cardinals have had a trying season, and perhaps nobody on the team has had a more disappointing year than star wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald. Of course, much of Fitzgerald's struggles have nothing to do with him, as the talent on the offensive side of the ball, especially at the quarterback position, is lacking.

However, Fitzgerald refuses to throw any of his teammates under the bus. When the wide receiver was asked about quarterback Kevin Kolb returning to the team in 2013, he gave this response (via the Cardinals' official site):

"I would love to see everybody come back, but that's not my decision," Fitzgerald said. "That's for management to take care of. Hopefully I can come back next year. Hopefully they bring me back. My season hasn't been that great."

Fitzgerald has just 57 catches for 652 yards and four touchdowns on the season, which are well off his career norms. But while Fitzgerald has had issues with some drops this year, the volatile quarterback situation involving Kolb, John Skelton and Ryan Lindley has contributed to the offense struggling as a whole. The porous offensive line has certainly not helped matters either, as Cardinals quarterbacks have been sacked 51 times on the year.

No matter what happens with the roster going forward, Fitzgerald is not going to complain. He's just going to come to work everyday and give it his all to try and help his team win:

"Certain days I am up, certain days I am down. I'm human," Fitzgerald said. "I try my best to be a professional every day, come to work and give it my best. It'd be easy to hang your head and be disappointed but as a teammate you can't do that to your teammates. You have to keep practicing and working hard and trying to improve. That's my mindset. I never feel sorry for myself."

Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson called himself the best in the NFL at his position, causing a bit of a stir leading up to his matchup against the Lions' Calvin Johnson.

While the Arizona Cardinals have floundered as a team this season, cornerback Patrick Peterson and the Cardinals' fifth-ranked pass defense have been a bright spot. However, Peterson will be put to the test when he goes up against Detroit Lions star wide receiver Calvin Johnson this Sunday.

Johnson currently leads the NFL in receiving yards and is on pace to break the all-time single-season record, but Peterson is more than ready to accept the challenge. In fact, Peterson put a bit of a target on his back earlier in the week when he called himself the "best cornerback in the NFL." Naturally, he would not back down from his statements (via the Cardinals' official site):

"That's what we play the game for, to be the best at our position," Peterson said. "If I feel I am the best, I am definitely going to let you know. I definitely feel I am playing at a top level right now, so why not feel like I'm the best?"

The second-year man out of LSU truly has been a playmaker this season, racking up 40 tackles and six interceptions. Those six picks put Peterson in a tie for third in the league with the Seattle Seahawks' Richard Sherman. Tim Jennings of the Chicago Bears leads the NFL with eight interceptions.
