While many college football programs are simply excited to make a bowl game, Arizona State head coach Todd Graham said he won't be happy unless the Sun Devils come away with a victory.
Arizona State will face Navy in the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl and Graham said while the experience of a bowl game is nice, it's isn't any good unless you also win the game.
"Our goal is to win our eighth game and to win a bowl championship," Graham said, according to Arizona Sports. "Winning a bowl championship would be the next step for our program."
Graham has had success in bowl games during his previous coaching stops, winning three of the four bowls he's appeared in. Navy will give the Sun Devils a significant challenge as Graham called them a disciplined, touch team which does a very good job of executing.
In addition to playing for a bowl championship, the postseason appearance will also give ASU some extra practice time and should help with recruiting. The Sun Devils will practice 15 times prior to their matchup with Navy. Graham also said playing in the Bay Area should be good for recruiting and ASU alumni.
