Arizona State blog House of Sparky had a chance to talk with ASU defensive back Alden Darby, and they asked about everything from his first kiss to why he chose to become a Sun Devil. The junior from Long Beach, Calif., had some interesting answers about things beyond football.
House of Sparky asked him about his favorite super hero, among many other things.
"I would be Batman because he is all skill, he has no powers."
The junior safety posted 72 tackles, 5.5 of which went for loss in 2012. He intercepted three passes, while recording three sacks, four pass breakups, and one fumble forced. He now has six career interceptions for the Sun Devils.
Darby's improvement was part of a defense-wide step-up this season. The Sun Devils went from allowing 6.1 yards per play in 2011 to giving up 4.8 this year. ASU also went from 28.6 points per game to 24.0 a game. That allowed ASU to grab seven wins, including five in conference play.
