Former Arizona State Sun Devils wide receiver Kyle Williams was placed in injured reserve by the San Francisco 49ers on Tuesday, according to 49ers.com. Williams suffered a torn ACL injury in the 49ers' win over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.
Williams is in his third year with San Francisco. He has appeared in 29 games, grabbing 35 receptions for 461 yards and four touchdowns. He has been efficient for the 49ers, catching 66 percent of the passes thrown his way. He will occasionally return kicks, as he as 13 kickoff returns for 353 yards on the year.
At ASU, Williams broke out his senior season. That year, he caught 57 passes for 815 yards and eight touchdowns. All three totals were better than Williams' first three years combined at ASU. He also served as the punt returner for the Sun Devils, with a 63-yard return his junior year being his longest.
