Taylor Kelly will be the Arizona St. Sun Devils starting quarterback on Saturday against Washington St., but redshirt freshman backup Michael Eubank could start seeing more playing time soon, according to comments that coach Todd Graham made to Tyler Killian of AZCentral.com.
"He's champing at the bit to get more reps," Graham said of Eubank. "And he's probably going to get some."
The explosive Eubank has seen his playing time limited to short-yardage and goal-line situations for the Sun Devils this season. And while Kelly has struggled of late, Eubank isn't complaining about his lack of game-time reps.
"Of course I get frustrated a little bit, because I want to see our offense succeed and see us progress and do what we need to do to get these wins," Eubank said. "But never do I wish it was me out there. I'm not a selfish player.
The 6'6 Eubank was a PrepStar All-American after his senior season at Centennial H.S. in Corona, Ca, and was rated a four-star prospect by both Rivals.com and Scout.com.
In limited action for the Devils this season, Eubank has completed 27-of-44 passes for 275 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions. He has also added 151 yards and two touchdowns on 47 carries.
Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. MT and the game will be televised on the Pac-12 Network.
