At 5-1 and 3-0 in Pac-12 play, Arizona State is one of three teams still unbeaten in conference play. They will face one of the others on Thursday when the Sun Devils host No. 2 Oregon.
Arizona State has opened Pac-12 play with three convincing victories, but none of them have come against a team as talented as the Ducks. Oregon is not only the favorite to win the Pac-12, but they are also a national championship contender. The Sun Devils defense, which is currently ranked ninth in the country allowing 14.2 points per game, will try to slow an Oregon offense averaging 52.3 points per game.
The Ducks have rarely been tested, winning every game this season by at least 17 points. Oregon will also be well rested as they are coming off a bye week. The Ducks offense is powered by its explosive rushing attack which ranks fourth in the country at 302.3 yards per game. Kenjon Barner leads the way with 727 yards through six games but sophomore De'Anthony Thomas may be the most explosive player in the country. Thomas has gained 582 yards from scrimmage on 61 touches, meaning he gains an average of 9.5 yards every time he touches the ball on offense. Thomas has also scored nine touchdowns this season.
The Ducks opened as 12-point favorites, although some casinos now have them as low as an 8-point favorite. Oregon has dominated the matchup recently, winning the last seven contests.
Game time, TV channel: 9 p.m. ET, ESPN
Point spread: Oregon opened as a 12-point favorite
