Arizona State senior Rashad Ross was named the Pac-12 Special Teams Player of the Week after he set the tone with a 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in the Sun Devils' tremendous second half against Colorado.
With ASU leading just 20-17 at halftime and the Buffaloes having scored the last 10 points, Ross took the opening kickoff the distance for his second career touchdown return and the fifth score of 100 yards in ASU program history. That opened the flood gates for the Sun Devils, who rolled to a 51-17 win.
Ross has averaged 32.8 yards per return in 16 total kickoff returns in the past two years with ASU, and he has only had three kickoff returns this season.
Ross also caught two passes for 23 yards in the victory that moved ASU to 5-1 on the year and 3-0 in Pac-12 play. The Vallejo, Calif., native has 16 receptions for 260 yards as a wide receiver this season for Todd Graham's squad.
