Although the spotlight tends to be directed towards freshman phenom Jahii Carson, there's a far more seasoned player on ASU's roster who is putting up numbers that are just as worthy of recognition.

In fact, they just happen to be the finest of his career.

Senior Carrick Felix is currently in the midst of his best scoring streak as a Sun Devil with Wednesday night's 21-point performance against Arkansas-Pine Bluff giving him an average of 20.7 points over the past three games. With totals of 18 and a career-high 24 also included in this trio of games, Felix's current run surpasses his previous three-game best of 15 points per game at the start of the 2011-2012 season.

But while it probably seems that 6'6 small forward has been making a concerted effort to step his game up over the past couple of days, Felix feels that he has simply been doing whatever the team needs.

"I'm playing slow [and] waiting for things to come to me," Felix said. "If they need me to be a rebounder, I can be a rebounder. If they need me to be a passer, an energy guy, whatever it is day in and out I'm going to be there for them."

And Felix is spot on when he sells himself as a jack of all trades. Through the first six games of the 2012 season, he's been averaging 5.5 rebounds, 3.5 steals and one block per game all while shooting a cool 47.8% from downtown (all of which are career-highs).

With numbers like that, it'd probably be wise to step back and reconsider before declaring that a certain nationally-recognized point guard is putting this team on his back.
