The Arizona State Sun Devils moved to 5-1 on the season in a 67-54 win over visiting Arkansas-Pine Bluff at Wells Fargo Arena on Wednesday night.
Senior guard-forward Carrick Felix led all scorers with 21 points on an efficient 8-of-12 from the field, including 2-of-3 from the three-point line. Sophomore forward Jonathan Gilling added 13 points off the bench for ASU in the winning effort and was 4-of-9.
ASU shot 44.7 percent from the field and scored just under its average of 79.2 points per game in the new-look, fast-paced offense led by freshman guard Jahii Carson. Carson had a relatively quiet night on Wednesday, scoring just 9 points on 2-of-6 shooting, but ASU had 23 bench points to provide balance to the offense.
Lazabian Jackson led the scoring for the Golden Lions, scoring 20 points on 8-of-16 from the field and 2-of-4 from the three-point line. Shots from three kept Arkansas-Pine Bluff in the game as they shot an impressive 46.7 percent for the game.
Arizona State will next square of against Sacramento State on Dec. 1.
