Arizona vs. Toledo: Matt Scott, Jared Tevis Take Home Weekly Honors

The Arizona Wildcats have announced their individual team awards for the Toledo game. Despite blowing numerous opportunities in the red zone throughout, UA battled back in overtime and came away with the 24-17 win in Rich Rodriguez's debut.

Here are the honors the coaching staff handed out, courtesy of Arizona Athletics.

Offense: Matt Scott, Quarterback, Senior

Scott passed for a career-high 387 yards and two touchdowns, including the game-winning score in overtime, to help lead Arizona to a season-opening victory over Toledo. Scott completed a career-best 30 passes on a career-high 46 attempts while adding 74 yards on 14 carries to set a new career high with 461 yards of total offense.

Defense: Jared Tevis, Safety, RS Sophomore

Tevis earned his first career start in Saturday's win against Toledo and logged career highs for solo (eight) and assisted (four) tackles. He ranked second among his defensive teammates for tackles recorded. He was part of a defense that accounted for 8.0 tackles for a loss of 29 yards and seven passes broken up and held the Rockets to less 3.8 yards gained per play and 358 yards of total offense.

Special Teams: Kyle Dugandzic, Punter, Senior

In Saturday's game, Dugandzic had four punts for 174 yards, including one touchback and one inside the 20. He averaged 43.5 yards per kick with a long of 48. He was also the holder for one field goal and three PAT kicks.

From the scout team, senior offensive lineman Eric Bender-Ramsay on offense, senior free safety Mark Watley on defense and junior running back Terris Jones on special teams were also honored for their effort during the Toledo preparations.
