South Carolina State Vs. Arizona 2012: Wildcats Dominate In 56-0 Win

So maybe this thing with Rich Rodriguez will work out after all. The head coach, in his first year with the No. 24 Arizona Wildcats, has them at a 3-0 after demolishing South Carolina State 56-0. In the past two games, Arizona has outscored their opponents 115 to 38.

Much of the success can be attributed to senior quarterback Matt Scott. Scott has proven to be a double-threat for the Wildcats by beating teams with his arm and his leg. In three quarters against SC State, Scott had 30 completions for 310 yards and three touchdowns. This was in addition to his nine rushes for 61 yards and one touchdown.

Scott wasn't the only one providing the offense. Daniel Jenkins ran for 76 yard on 12 carries followed on the stat sheet by Ka'Deem Carey with 13 rushes for 71 yards. Jenkins and Carey had one touchdown each.

Dan Buckner and Tyler Slavin were two of Scott's favorite targets in the game. Buckner had seven receptions for 92 yards and one touchdown. Slavin caught five balls for 70 yards and one touchdown.

Now comes the real test to see what the Wildcats are made of. Next weekend, they travel up to Oregon to face the No. 4 Ducks in their first Pac-12 game of the season.
