Former Arizona Wildcats Forward Jesse Perry Charged With Felony Domestic Violence

Jesse Perry had a fine career with the Arizona Wildcats after transferring in from a St. Louis area junior college, but his latest actions off the court will leave him embarrassed and possibly facing jail time. According to multiple reports, Perry has been arrested and charged with a class 4 felony for assaulting a woman on Thursday morning that he previously had a romantic relationship with.

She was taken to a hospital and treated for various injuries, but none of which are believed to be life-threatening.

"The Department of Athletics, the President and the Dean of Students office are fully aware of the situation," athletic director Greg Byrne said in a statement. "This matter is in police hands and we will fully cooperate and assist them as needed. At this point we will have no further comment."

I'll offer a few thoughts on Perry after the jump.

This is completely shocking news to say the least.

After watching Perry play the last two years and talking with him numerous times off the court, he always kept a level-head and seldom retaliated despite often taking a beating around the basket. A father to a young daughter, Perry seemed to be a very easy going individual and was excited about graduating from the UA next month.

We must remember that everyone is innocent until proven guilty, but this does not look like a promising situation for Jesse or his family.
