Pac-12 Tournament 2012: Arizona Wildcats Defeat OSU Beavers 72-61

The Arizona Wildcats were on the wrong side of a 20-4 run towards the end of the first half, but a monster 22-5 run of their own to start the second half propelled the team to a 71-62 victory over the Oregon St. Beavers. The UA simply executed much better than their counterparts down the stretch and played stellar defense once again against a hot-shooting team.

Kyle Fogg, a senior who set the school record for all-time games played at the beginning of the evening, scored 22 points, 17 of which came in the second half. Fogg went 3-for-5 from behind the arc and did his work against Jared Cunningham, one of the better defenders in the conference. Jesse Perry stepped up big time and recorded a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Solomon Hill fouled out mid-way through the second half, but managed to score 12 points in limited playing time.

Roberto Nelson had a huge game for the Beavers off the bench and finished with 19 points. Cunningham, arguably the best scorer in the Pac-12, ended with 14 points on 14 shots. Devon Collier played well and ended with 15 points, but fouled out late and was held in check by Angelo Chol for much of the second half.

The Wildcats now have less than 24 hours to rest before taking on the winner of the Colorado-California game that will be played later this evening.
