The 2012 NCAA Tournament bracket and field has been announced, and the Arizona Wildcats will not be part of March Madness.
The Arizona Wildcats faced a tumultuous season and were forced to deal with numerous injuries to key players such as Kevin Parrom and Jordin Mayes. Combine these losses with suspensions to Josiah Turner and the impact of losing a player as talented as Derrick Williams and it would have been very easy to count the UA out from the early going. In the end, these hurdles were just too big for Sean Miller and Co. to overcome.
The Pac-12 only had two teams be part of the NCAA Tournament. Colorado, who beat the Wildcats in the Pac-12 Tournament Championship game, was chosen as the 11 seed of the South region. They will play six seed UNLV.
The other Pac-12 school in the tourney is California, who will play one of the first four games to determine who will be the 12 seed in the Midwest and face Temple. Cal will play South Florida for that spot in the bracket.
