Arizona Wildcats Go Cold In Second Half, Fall To Washington Huskies

The Arizona Wildcats held tough throughout the first half and parts of the second, but the team simply could not knock down an outside shot against the Washington Huskies as they 79-70. The loss snapped a five-game winning streak for the UA and likely ends any chance they had at a regular season conference championship.

The story of the game was rebounding, or a lack thereof. The stats may show Washington only out-rebounded Arizona by five (40 to 35), but they simply dominated the glass. The team had 18 offensive rebounds and got numerous chances to score on seemingly every possession.

Tony Wroten was unstoppable for the Huskies and ended with 22 points and nine rebounds. Terrence Ross led all scorers with 25 points and made 11 of his 12 attempts from inside the arc. Arizona played stellar defense behind the arc, holding the opposition to 3-for-18 shooting.

Nick Johnson padded his stats late with a few 3-pointers and led Arizona with 20 points. Solomon Hill continued to play well, recording a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Jesse Perry added 13 points and Kyle Fogg contributed 11 of his own.

A tough loss for the Wildcats, but not one they cannot overcome. Next up for Arizona will be the lowly USC Trojans on Thursday evening.
