The Arizona Wildcats might have their first 1,000 yard rusher since 2008 with sophomore running back Ka'Deem Carey on pace for 1,291 yards in 2012, according the Tucson's Citizen's Anthony Gimino.
Carey is fresh of strong performance against an Oregon State team that was ranked second nationally against the run before he shredded them for 115 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries. This Saturday though, Carey will be faced with challenge of running on Stanford's formidable 3-4 that is only allowing 65 rushing yards per game (third best in the nation).
But even if Carey can't get much more than the 2.34 yards Stanford is averaging allowing per carry this season, he's still an active part of the passing attack. The physical ball carrier is fourth on the team with 14 receptions for 152 yards through the first five games of 2012.
Carey currently ranks third in the Pac-12 in rushing with 97 carries for 538 yards and eight total touchdowns. He'll need to get close to his 107.6 average if the Wildcats are to end their two-game losing streak this Saturday.
