The Arizona Wildcats have struggled with teams that feature talented post players this season. With Josh Smith out with a concussion and Reeves Nelson no longer on the team, one would think Arizona would be able to take advantage of the Bruins. That was far from the case in the first half, and big performances out of David Wear and Travis Wear have UCLA up 37-30 at the half.
Arizona struggled shooting the ball to begin the game but was able to get it going in the final minutes of the half. Jesse Perry leads the UA with eight points, while Josiah Turner has done a solid job with seven points, three rebounds and two assists as he started his first game in over a month. Brendon Lavender sparked the Wildcats off the bench, hitting two 3-pointers.
As afore mentioned, Travis Wear and David Wear have given Arizona fits in the paint. The twin brothers combined for 18 points and four rebounds, although both had to sit the final minutes with two fouls each. Jerime Anderson has seven points, while Tyler Lamb and Lazeric Jones chipped in for six a piece.
The second half is about to begin in Los Angeles.
