Arizona Wildcats Play Best Half Of Season, Lead Colorado Buffaloes At The Break

The Arizona Wildcats knew they would have to play at the top of their game if they hoped to come out of Boulder with a win. After one half of play, it's safe to say the UA received the message. At the midway point, the Wildcats lead the Colorado Buffaloes by a score of 39-35. The game is sold out and it has featured a raucous atmosphere throughout thus far.

Josiah Turner was the star of the first half. The freshman point guard played like the top-10 prospect he was last year and ended with nine points, three assists, a steal and no turnovers. He should have recorded even more assists, but the Colorado defense often clobbered the recipient of Turner's passes as they had an open look at the basket. Jesse Perry led all scorers with 12 points, including this monster dunk.

Solomon Hill and Kyle Fogg both had seven early points, but two fouls each limited their playing time. Nick Johnson has done a little bit of everything, scoring two points, dishing out two assists and bringing down three rebounds.

Colorado shot the ball very well in the first half and built a lead as big as four points. Spencer Dinwiddle led the way with 11 points, while Carlon Brown added seven.

This is shaping up to be a great finish in Boulder and the UA desperately needs the win to help their RPI and chances at a March Madness bid. The game is airing on Fox Sports Arizona and KWBA.
