Arizona Wildcats Forward Kevin Parrom Shot In New York, Coach Sean Miller Releases Statement

Arizona Wildcats Forward Kevin Parrom was shot in the leg in New York CIty early Saturday morning, but is reportedly recovering well. University of Arizona men's head basketball coach Sean Miller released a statement today with some more details:

"Kevin Parrom returned to Tucson last night. He will return to classes this week and also begin his rehabilitation process. We will know a lot more about his return to basketball activities in a month. At this time our focus is to provide him a comprehensive support system to allow him to progress to his full potential. Kevin, first and foremost, is fortunate to be alive."

Parrom (6-6, 205), is a key player for the Widcats, and averaged 7.6 points and 3.4 rebounds last season as his team won the Pac-10 title and reached the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight. Arizona surely hopes he can get back to full strength and form in time to play this season, but as Miller said, they're just thankful he escaped with his life.
