ASU Football Recruiting: Stephon McCray (OG, Fresno) Commits To Sun Devils

The Arizona St. Sun Devils are filling up their 2012 recruiting class well before the start of the 2011 football season. Looks like they might take out all the drama out of the fall and winter process, because they're pretty close to reaching their limits.

Their latest verbal comes from offensive guard Stephon McCray via Brandon Huffman of Scout (you can read his full article on McCray's commitment here if you have a Scout subscription), who has been high on ASU ever since they first offered him. McCray plays for Bullard High in Fresno, California, and had offers extended from Arizona State, Colorado, Fresno State, Iowa State, and Washington State. But he eventually chose the Sun Devils, and became their third offensive line commitment from this class, joining Dejon Allen and Niu Sale.

McCray has average ratings from the recruiting sites (5.6 from Rivals, 79 from ESPN, 3 stars from Scout, 82 from 247 Sports), so he doesn't stand out from the fray, but there's a lot of promise with him. He's clearly an imposing force at 6'3", 300 pounds and if he can get his technique and conditioning in the right place, he can be a big pickup for Dennis Erickson and the Sun Devils.

Check out his highlight reel too, which usually ends up with him knocking some poor defender backwards into the turf.
