Notre Dame Football Recruiting: Tee Shepard and Deonte Greenberry, Irish Commits, To Visit ASU

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are struggling through their 2011 football campaign. They hope that those struggles don't get reflected on the recruiting trail.

Notre Dame has already lost a visit from premier running back Byron Marshall, who was perhaps their top target in terms of tailbacks. Now it looks as if two of their top verbals from the West Coast could be exploring. Greg Biggins of ESPN tweeted this interesting tidbit.

#NotreDame commits Tee Shepard and Deonte Greenberry will visit #ASU this week. Both are still solid commits but ASU has a real shot here

Tee Shepard is considered one of the lockdown cornerbacks on the West Coast, and Deontay Greenberry is a top-flight wide receiver. Both play at the same school (Washington Union) in Fresno, California and are both in the discussion of the top 20 recruits in the state of California. Their commitments to Notre Dame football were huge in kickstarting the program in the right direction. Their decommitments would be just as deflating, since they're likely to play football with each other next season. Brace yourself for some long weeks of Notre Dame recruit searching.
