Arizona State's Bowl Waiver Denied, Sun Devils' 6-6 Season Ends On High Note

According to a tweet from Arizona State’s official account, the school's waiver to attend a bowl game despite not meeting the seven-win requirement has been denied. The tweet reads, "Director of Operations John Wrenn informed #ASUDevilscom there will be no bowl game for the #SunDevils. Waiver denied."

"We end up going 6-6 and beating the University of Arizona. We would have liked to have played another game, but we didn't win seven games, that's the bottom line. We did finish the season like we wanted. I'll take that game last night over any bowl game," Dennis Erickson, ASU Head Football Coach

With the waiver denied, the Sun Devils' season comes to an end in grand and dramatic fashion with Thursday’s win over in-state rival University of Arizona.

"It's obviously disappointing that we will not be playing in a bowl game. That being said, the win last night over Arizona in Tucson was as exciting as any game I have ever been a part of, and being able to say that my last game at ASU brought the Territorial Cup back to Tempe is something I will never forget. I am so proud of how the team played and I am honored that I was a part of the Sun Devil football program," Thomas Weber, Senior Kicker, Team Co-Captain.
