The Arizona State Sun Devils look to continue their winning Pac-12 ways as they travel on the road to face the struggling California Golden Bears in a Week 5 matchup.
The Sun Devils opened up conference play with a 37-7 thrashing of the Utah Utes in Week 4. Sophomore quarterback Taylor Kelly threw for a career-high 326 yards and three touchdowns while the defense limited the Utes to just 209 total yards.
The Bears are coming off of two straight losses to ranked teams - Ohio State Buckeyes in Week 3 and the USC Trojans in Week 4. Although Cal hung with the Buckeyes for most of the game, it was never a contest in the 27-9 loss against USC. The Cal defense struggled especially against the run, giving up 296 rushing yards to the Trojans.
If California wants to pick up its first Pac-12 victory of the season, they might have a good shot against the Sun Devils, who have struggled mightily over the last 23 games on the road going just 5-18. ASU also hasn't won at Berkeley since 1997.
Game time/date: 1 p.m. PT, Saturday, Sept. 29
Location: Memorial Stadium, Berkeley, CA
TV Schedule: FX
Odds: Cal opened as slim 2-point favorites.
