Arizona State Vs. Cal Final Score: Sun Devils Take 68-47 Loss, Get Swept In Bay Area

The Arizona St. Sun Devils did not fare well in their road trip to the Bay Area of Northern California. Following a loss to Stanford, the Sun Devils were handed yet another lopsided defeat by the hometown California Golden Bears on Saturday afternoon. ASU lost by a final score of 68-47 to fall to 3-8 in the Pac-12, with an overall record of 7-16.

Arizona State faltered early, putting up only 16 points in the first half, against 34 from Cal. They fared far better with 31 points in the second half, but the bulk of the damage had already been done. They finished shooting just 38.3 percent from the floor and only 64.3 from the free-throw line on 14 chances. By contrast, on Cal's 20 free throw attempts, they made 18 of those shots, shooting 90 percent.

One night after hitting a career-high 20 points, ASU center Jordan Bachynski had only five points and five rebounds against Cal. Forward Kyle Cain led the Sun Devils with 18 points, also picking up nine rebounds. Allen Crabbe of the Golden Bears led all scorers with 19 points.

The Sun Devils will play their next game on Thursday, February 9, when they host the Utah Utes.
