National Signing Day 2012: Bryan Harper Picks Arizona Wildcats Over Oregon Ducks, UCLA Bruins

After many months of anticipation National Signing Day 2012 is finally here. While the Arizona Wildcats already received a Letter Of Intent from each of their previous commitments, Rich Rodriguez and the coaching staff left the door open for a few other undecided recruits to join the mix. One of the most heralded athletes on the west coast is Bryan Harper, who had his final list down to Arizona, Oregon and UCLA.

Harper is a three-star athlete according to Rivals and many believe he is capable of playing either quarterback, wide receiver or cornerback in college. The Wildcats are desperately looking for quarterbacks to solidify their depth chart once Matt Scott graduates after next season and Harper was reportedly very interested in playing a role similar to what QB Pat White had at WVU.

Oregon was the heavy favorite to land Harper but it appears the UA coaching staff did a stellar job convincing him that Tucson was the place to be. Along with Harper, look for Javelle Allen and Josh Kern to compete with him for the backup QB slots.
