National Signing Day 2012: Davonte Neal Will Not Sign, Arizona Wildcats In The Mix

After long wait the 2012 National Signing Day is here. While most high school athletes around the country will sign their National Letter of Intent to the football program of their choosing, that will not be the case for Davonte Neal, who is a four-star prospect out of Scottsdale, Arizona. It is unclear at this point when Neal will sign his NLI.

Among the teams in the running for Neal are the Arizona Wildcats, North Carolina Tar Heels, Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Ohio St. Buckeyes. The Oklahoma Sooners are also reportedly in the running now that they have a new coaching staff in place.

According to multiple reports, Neal will indeed take an official visit to Oklahoma in the coming weeks and also take an unofficial visit to Tucson to visit with Rich Rodriguez and the new staff beginning February 10. The Wildcats are looking to rebuild the in-state pipeline that Mike Stoops destroyed while at the UA and a commitment from Neal would be absolutely huge for the program.

We will keep you updated on Neal as he continues to search for the college of his choosing.
