ASU Basketball Suspensions: Keala King, Kyle Cain, Chris Colvin Out For Unacceptable Conduct

The Arizona St. Sun Devils aren't exactly a deep team on the hardwood, and are currently a Pac-12 bottom-dweller. The devastating news from this afternoon can do nothing to help them. Doug Haller of the Arizona Republic reports.

Starters Keala King and Kyle Cain, along with reserve guard Chris Colvin, have been suspended for "unacceptable conduct" and did not make the trip to Los Angeles. Their status will be revisited next week, which means they also will miss Saturday's contest against UCLA.

King, Cain, and Colvin are three highly used players by Herb Sendek in the ASU rotation, particularly offensively. None of them except maybe King are considered highly efficient offensively (all of them have pretty low offensive efficiencies), putting ASU in the hands of guys like Trent Lockett and Carrick Felix might have to play almost complete games as Arizona State is now down to an essential six man rotation for this contest.

The good news for tonight is that ASU faces a team that has similar issues in depth in the USC Trojans. This could be one of those low-scoring games you hide your children from, for fear of them never wanting to watch basketball ever again.
