The Arizona St. Sun Devils visited the Utah Utes on Saturday in Pac-12 action. Both teams entered with losing records in conference play. The Utes were able to walk away with the 64-43 victory as the Sun Devils shot just 38.6 percent from the floor.
The Sun Devils fell behind early and entered halftime down 17 points, trailing by a score of 38-21. The Utes went on an 11-0 run in the second half before Dave Whitmore made a jumper to finally get the Sun Devils second-half scoring started an entire eight minutes into the half. The Sun Devils reeled off a 16-9 stretch after that, but the early deficit amounted to a very small dent in Utah's lead.
With the loss, ASU falls to 2-5 in Pac-12 play, while the Utes improve to that same 2-5 mark. The Sun Devils now hold an overall record of 6-13.
ASU's top scorer was Carrick Felix, who picked up 13 points.
The Sun Devils will play their next game on Thursday, January 26, as they host Pac-12 rivals the Washington Huskies.
