We are still basking in the glow of Arizona State's huge victory over the Missouri Tigers last night at Sun Devil Stadium. With ASU now 2-0, it's appropriate to look across the Pac-12 South division and key in on a crucial matchup between the Utah Utes and the USC Trojans.
↵The Utes and Trojans are considered two of the favorites to win the South division, along with the Devils. USC cannot play in the postseason due to their NCAA sanctions, meaning that even if the Trojans won the division, the second place finisher would go to the Pac-12 Championship Game.
↵Enter the Utes, who in their first year as a member of a BCS conference are looking to make a big initial impression. Should the Trojans defeat Utah this afternoon, Arizona State would already be in the driver's seat to go to the championship game.
↵Neither team looked impressive last week, with USC barely defeating Minnesota and Utah defeating Montana State by a mere 17 points.
↵I know this sounds crazy for many ASU fans, because USC has caused us a lot of heartache in the past 11 years, but today we need to cheer for the boys from Los Angeles. This is just one of the many things that has to go our way, but it's always fun to see the dominoes begin to fall.
