ASU Sun Devils Announce First-Ever 'Black Out'

When the Arizona State Sun Devils unveiled their new uniforms a few weeks ago excitement quickly built for the new black version. Now we learn how the school plans on using the special new alternate color scheme to create more buzz for a team that doesn't get nearly as much local support as other big college programs.

ASU has called for a "Black Out" on September 9 when the Sun Devils host Missouri in Tempe. Per the official press release, "Fans are encouraged to wear black for the game" which starts at 7:30 p.m. and will be broadcast nationally on ESPN.

Coach Erickson encourages fans to "set aside your game day gold and opt for black instead." Senior wide receiver Mike Willie agrees, "We need our twelfth man in black. September 9th at 7:30, let's black it out in Sun Devil Stadium."
